Come and enjoy a starry night at the Cancer Society’s Diplomatic Ball, a black-tie event at Te Papa Tongarewa | Museum of New Zealand. This event consists of a gala dinner and an auction of top-quality items gifted by generous donors, including Singapore Airlines and Partridge Jewellers.
Wellington business people, medical professionals and people connected with the cause will join an illustrious guest list comprised of members of the Government, Parliament, High Commissions and Embassies. All proceeds from the Diplomatic Ball go to the Cancer Society Wellington Division.
Friends of the Cancer Society is a voluntary committee raising funds for the Cancer Society of New Zealand, Wellington Division Inc.
100% of the proceeds from The Diplomatic Ball will go towards the Cancer Society of New Zealand, Wellington Division Inc. All of the donations received by the Cancer Society Wellington are distributed across the Wellington region. They go towards funding services which support patients, their carers, family and friends. These services include support groups, volunteer driver services, and Margaret Stewart House, a home-away-from-home for patients and carers from out-of-town. Annually, the Wellington Division contribute to a nationwide Cancer Society spend of over $4.8 million towards cancer research. They remain the largest non-government funder of cancer research in New Zealand.
