Postponed - Mindfulness Course for People Affected by Cancer

The Cancer Society takes the health and well-being of our communities seriously. While the world works together to better understand and slow the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to postpone our support groups, talks, and courses until further notice. 

This is the best step that we can take to ensure the well-being of our community, especially those with compromised immune systems.

Mindfulness is a gentle practice of observation and awareness of the self and others, non-judgementally and in-the-moment. It can reduce anxiety and stress and promotes a sense of well-being and control, thereby improving quality of life.

This is a free introductory course of four sessions at our Newtown offices.

The sessions will be led by Ruth Pink, our Supportive Care manager.

Ruth is experienced in teaching mindfulness and meditation and is a trained counsellor. She has a passion for using mindfulness techniques to support relaxation, pain relief and loving self-acceptance wherever we find ourselves in life.

The sessions will run weekly, for four weeks, starting on Wednesday 25 March at 11am to 12:15pm
